[Mesorah] The word "Bekirvach"

The ArtScroll Onkelos to Shemos 20:10 translates it as "in your city".
In the comments, he points out that Onkelos changed "gates" to "city", "in
accordance with its intent rather than its literal meaning", but he doesn't
comment explicitly on your plural/singular question.

Curiously, the same phrase appears in Devarim 5:14 and 31:12, and ArtScroll
translates both of those in the plural, "cities", with no comment. Maybe
it's interchangeable, as you wrote.
