In the shtiebl of my childhood, R' Shaul Margolis z"l would have the
baal qeriah say the three words "Timkheh es z(e|ei)kher" twice.

RSM was chassidish, in fact he was a rebbe with a whole qehillah
(and family with 5 children) of whom only he survived the war. Got to
America and didn't know how to make a parnasah, ended up waiting tables
on the Lower East Side. Talking Torah with whomever he could find among
the diners. One wealthy customer realized he ought to have a qehillah,
and set him up in KGH.
