I don't know when it's proper and I don't know where the line is. But I do know one way of spotting some (not all) exaggerations if the presentation is in English. If the speaker says "literally" (e.g., it's literally yahareg ve'al ya'avor) you know it's an exaggeration. Joseph Kaplan
