[Mesorah] How widespread is ignorance of Hebrew?

At 18:02 12-04-19  +0000, Mandel, Seth via Mesorah stated the following:

There are many explanations, such as the drasha 
is given by a gadol.  And hence Shabbat is in 
nismakh, with a patah under the bet.

But the truth is that Shabbat can be of either gender.
