[Mesorah] R'tzon Konam vs. Koneihem

Nusach Ashkenaz has R'tzon Konam in several places where Nusach S'pharad and Eidot Mizrach have "Koneihem"

Isn't koneihem problematic?  Even if it does not refer to Multiple R'shuyyos, Cv"S it sure sounds that way!  And we avoid "Sh'ma Sh'ma" and "Modim Modim" just because they might be misconstrued. Doesn't that also stand to reason in this instance?
