Not disagreeing, just adding another data point: We have the final nun in Unesaneh Tokef too - "yikasevun", "yechasemun", and more. And that was written a lot more recently than Aleinu.

So were paytanim using l'shon Miqra in general?  Does it indicate how they felt it "should be" in general?  Or aderabba, were they davqa using a different dialect to disinguish piyyut!?
