Baer criticized this revision and restored the hataf patach in the siddur

FWIW - The Breuer community follows Baer on this, as do the modern Roedelheim Siddurim.

And iirc so does Hoffmeister

Was there an Oral Tradition behind rejecting RWH on this matter? I don't know.
