Thanks for the references.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, and/or if these are
useful, and/or if everyone already knows this -- but I would find them
interesting nonetheless:

1.  shalsheles is a substitute for a segalta (and so I would group it
together) that only appears if a segalta is needed on the first word of a
pasuk.

2.  zarka can only serve a segol; pashta can only serve a zakef; t'vir can
only serva a tipcha; a revia can serve all of the m'lachim

3.  the last melech before a siluk or esnachta must be a tipcha

4.  a segalta can only appear as the first melech in a pasuk (and before
the esnachta), and can only appear if there are more than one m'lachim
(lest it violate #3).  Almost always it usually appears if there are three
or more m'lachim, and if the phrases are long.
