If the owner claims that the halachos of Mar'is Ayin forbid him to use those boxes, then those others would have a good point. But if the owner says something like, "people could see it and come to the wrong conclusion. I have a reputation to protect." - then I see no problem.

Again, as long as they don't make any claim that the halachah requires them to do this, they are on safe ground.
