A LOT more info on all this is in the Shmiras Shabbos K'Hilchasa, vol 2, all of Chapter 49. Note that in par. 8, he mentions the rejected suggestion that the katan should drink a rivi'is, so as to be yotzay Kiddush B'Makom Seudah.
