Subject: [Tif-Mail] Pair up to protect an Israeli soldier
I would like to encourage everyone to sign up for The Shmira Project. Each
person is given the name of Israeli soldier, and one has that soldier in
mind during Tefilla, Tehillim, and when learning Torah and doing Mitzvos.
While we daven for the safety of every Israeli soldier, this allows us to
feel the a stronger connection to this individual and thereby to all the
soldiers who are risking their lives to protect Jews in Eretz Yisrael. This
project was initiated a number of years ago by Rav Simcha HaKohen Kook
shlit'a and the Bostoner Rebbe zt"l. You can sign up at

I will also note another project intended to promote Achdus in the merit of
Eyal Yifrach, Naftali Frankel, and Gilad Shaar Hy"d*. *It was initiated by

Please say some tehillim for Amichai ben Devorah Steinmetz who went missing
in India on 7/22/09 (details here: http://tinyurl.com/mao37b) and for
Warren Weinstein (Yisroel Yitzchok ben Faigela), who was abducted by Al
Qaeda in Pakistan in 2011.
Please take out a few moments and say some tehillim (psalms) for the
Israeli chayalim (soldiers) & for everyone living in Israel. Please also
same some tehillim for the captive Israeli soldiers:
Guy ben Rina (Hever), disappeared near the Syrian-Israeli border in the
Golan Heights in August 1997;
Tzvi ben Pninah (Feldman), Yekutiel Yehuda Nachman ben Sarah (Katz),
Zecharia Shlomo ben Miriam (Baumel), all captured at the Sultan Yaaqub
battle in Lebanon on June 11,1982.
If you need some suggestions for which Tehillim (Psalms) to say, I'd
suggest # 20, # 130 & # 121
