Dearest readers:

I believe in the Power of Prayer. I  TRULY BELIEVE IN IT.

This is one of the hardest letters I'm likely to  ever write.

My father is in his 80s and his life is now hanging in the  balance.

There are tens of thousands who receive JWR daily. I'm asking  that
each of you take a moment and recite a prayer on behalf of  Yehudah
ben (son of ) Rivka.

I don't care if you identify as a Jew,  Christian, Hindu, or member
of any other faith --- or no faith. Please  beseech the One Who
Grants Life to allow my father to live!

After you  do, PLEASE forward my request to prayer lists and
friends/family or anybody  else. We often send corny jokes and silly
photos, after all. We all know  folks who care about their fellow man
--- even a man they may not  know.

Those in the Holy Land near the Western Wall and burial sites of  the
righteous, please place a prayer petition there.

I pray that the news will ultimately be that of  thanksgiving. You

Please take out a few moments and say some tehillim (psalms) for the Israeli  
chayalim (soldiers) & for everyone living in Israel. Israel also has eight  
soldiers in enemy captivity, namely:

Gilad ben Aviva (Shalit), captured  just outside Gaza on June 25, 2006;
Ehud ben Malka (Goldwasser) &  Eldad ben Tova (Regev), captured on the 
Israeli-Lebanese border 7/12/06;
Guy  ben Rina (Hever), disappeared near the Syrian-Israeli border in the 
Golan  Heights in August 1997;
Ron ben Batya (Arad), captured when his plane was  downed over Lebanon in 
Oct. 1986;
Tzvi ben Pninah (Feldman), Yekutiel Yehuda  Nachman ben Sarah (Katz), and 
Zecharia Shlomo ben Miriam (Baumel), all captured  at the Sultan Yaaqub battle in 
Lebanon on June  11,1982.
