Dear friends and family,

I, Meira Weiss will be  turning twelve, B’ezrat Hashem, on April fifth, 2007. 
Before my Bat Mitzvah, I  am going to do a tzedakah fundraiser.
For the fundraiser, since I  love to read, I will be reading for tzedakah. I 
will read a book, write the  title, the author, how many pages, and how many 
chapters. If you fill out the  Sponsor Sheet and send it back to me, I will 
know how much you are willing to  give. Then I will write you a letter with all 
the information and the final  amount to be given to tzedakah.
I know you have one major question:  To where is all this money going? Well, I
’ll tell you. It is all going to  Gevuras Yarden, a brilliant organization 
that supports Jewish families in  Baltimore who have family members who are 
sick. They once helped my family  when my Aba was ill. I want to tell them thank

chayalim (soldiers) & for everyone living in  Israel. Israel also has eight 
soldiers in enemy captivity, namely:

Gilad  ben Aviva (Shalit), captured just outside Gaza on June 25 of this year;
Ehud  ben Malka (Goldwasser) and Eldad ben Tova (Regev), captured on the  
Israeli-Lebanese border July 12 of this year;
Guy ben Rina (Hever),  disappeared near the Syrian-Israeli border in the 
Golan Heights in August  1997;
Ron ben Batya (Arad), captured when his plane was downed over Lebanon  in 
Oct. 1986;
Tzvi ben Pninah (Feldman), Yekutiel Yehuda Nachman ben Sarah  (Katz), and 
Zecharia Shlomo ben Miriam (Baumel), all captured at the Sultan  Yaaqub battle in 
Lebanon on June 11,1982.
