<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">Then came a Hebrew/Aramaic translation or adaptation or an acrostic song.</p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">Then sang to the original German melody or put to a popular melody.</p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">Not from the Rishonim, not from the Geonim. From popular German culture, sort of like a dessert: to finish off what people think is a dry ritual with some enoyable, tasty tidbits, with enjoyable and good ideas and a
nice popular tune.</p>
<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">So really these songs fall into the framework of efikomen, something nice to end the evening.<br>
