[Mesorah] B'lishna

What is the meaning of "b'lishna" in the Mesorah notes?

I understand that when the Mesorah gives a word count "b'lishna", it is not
referring to the number of occurrences of the exact word but of l'shonot of
the word.  But is there a more exact definition of what is included in
"b'lishna"?  Is it all words of the same root, or a more restricted
grouping such as words of the same construction that differ only in their
prefix or suffix, or is there no rule?

Please respond with examples.
