Thanks, RRW.  The tipcha in the first half of 20:12 is an example of what I
recently mentioned (a mafsiq occurring immediately prior to a stronger
mafsiq).

BTW, I don't think the observation of "a mafsiq M occurring immediately
prior to a stronger mafsiq M' acts similarly to a m'shareis" applies when M
is the main mafsiq in the [half-]pasuq; and in any case, "acting similarly"
does not includes eliding a dageish qal in the word graced by M'.
