But sometimes the answer to a question is simply a grammatical answer.  E.g.,

Q: Why did the pasuk end with the word pronounced as "pasach"
A:  Because that is the pausal form of the word

So, I was asking if this aleph had that kind of answer.

As for vayyishchat -- I understand the issues involved (at least to 
the extent that you taught them to me), but I wonder why so many 
others get that wrong.  (But I'll save that for another message)
