[Mesorah] Your Mizbe'ach

The two forms are pausal (the first) vs. non-pausal (the second).  Both are hypercorrections.

The original form was mizb'choch, which is the form in Chazal Hebrew.  Once the grammarians decided that Chazal Hebrew forms were treif and everything had to follow Biblical Hebrew, they were faced with the problem that in Biblical Hebrew there are two forms for nouns with the 2nd person masculine singular possessive suffix: pausal and non-pausal.  For instance, shimkha (your name) non-pausal, and sh'mekha pausal.  Both forms are attested in the Bible: the pausal,. e.g. in Deut. 33:10, and the non-pausal in T'hillim 26:6.  The hypercorrectors were left to decide which one to use.

The same is every time this word occurs, e.g. in Musaf of Rosh Chodesh.

One of the words in Bracha Me'en Shalosh (a/k/a Al Hamichya) refers to "Your Mizbe'ach", but it is voweled differently in different siddurim.

In many (such as ArtScroll and Otzar Hatefilos), it is pronounced "Mizb'checha", with a shva on the beis, and a segol on the ches.

In others (such as Birnbaum and Hirsch), it is "Mizbachacha", with a patach on the beis, and chataf-patach on the ches.

what are the issues here? Is it a difference of context, minhag, psak, or what?
