<div><br></div><div>In 2012 the city of Jerusalem has a population of about 700,000. The old city is but a fraction of the city. Is it really plausible to believe that there was a population of 600,000 in the tiny area of the old city? In 1905 the population of the old city was 32,000. Is it plausible to believe that in the time of the Mishnayos the population was 20 times as large? </div>
