If they held that the first reading was invalid -- as suggested by the fact that they had you make a new berachah -- then they should have had the kohein repeat his aliyah as well. On the other hand, if they held that the reading from the wrong parashah was valid bedi'eved, then they should have let you finish your aliyah (by reading at least 3 pesukim) and make the closing berachah, and then read Ki Teitzei (from the beginning) for the yisrael.</span></div>
