The word is "orders."</div><div>To think that they have the "choice" to refrain is very naive.</div><div>If a godfather or crime boss gives orders and the subordinates</div><div>refrain from carrying out the orders, they will be killed. A godfather</div><div>doesn't give one a "choice." They may have had a choice l'chatchila</div><div>not to become involved with the mafia. However, even that is somewhat</div><div>more complex than it sounds. A person born into a mafia family, whose parents</div><div>are criminals and whose entire family are career criminals, has a much more </div><div>difficult path and requires a super strength to leave his environment. However,</div><div>once a person is involved and is ordered by the crime boss to do anything, his only</div><div>consequence in not following orders is death.</div></body></html>
