I received an e-mail message from a Rabbinic group in my former community in the
States, the substance of which was to urge the Jews in that area to give
75% of their Tzedekah money to local causes. While a good deal of the
funds raised there are for worthwhile causes, many millions of dollars are being
raised and spent to make shuls a little larger and a lot fancier. <SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>As the future of the Jewish people is
here in Israel, would it not be more useful to invest more of the money
