In addition to meaning <i>sinning</i>, <i>distancing from God</i>, <i>violating the law unintentionally</i>, it also means <i>missing the target.</i> In other words, as the Hebrew letter <i>aleph</i>, at the end of the word is silent and has no function in the pronunciation of the word, so too, one who misses the target, misses a “letter” so to speak and can’t see what he or she has done wrong.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-top: 0in; margin-right: 0in; margin-left: 0in; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; "><span style="font-family: Mangal; ">May we all be fortunate enough to recognize the silent <i>aleph</i>.</span></div></div></body></html>
