I have not. I have limited my comments to saying that the link you
give is neither in Even Sheleimah nor could be implied in ES, since
the book itself says that ameilus beTorah would make bad middos worse,
not fix them!

But since you do ask, Rava or R Chisda (Berakhos 5a) talks about the
possibility of bitul Torah being the cause of nisyonos, not that ameilus
beTorah being central to preventing them.

So, perhaps we should be looking about how wasting an opportunity to
learn is destructive. And not how ameilus fixes things.
