Ashkenazi chief rabbi delivers Great Shabbat
sermon in Jerusalem, explaining that Jewish law
permits women to lead the Passover Seder in the
event that their husbands are not available •
Wives and daughters must be allowed to take part
in the reading of the Haggadah even if the husband is at home.

Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger publicly
declared that women are allowed, according to
Halachah (Jewish law), to lead the Passover
Seder, and it is even obligatory to allow women to read parts of the Haggadah.
