I vividly remember one of my high school rebbeim insisting that Yom Kippur is a Yom Simcha. Recently I encountered (Massaches Sofrim 19:6): "ein mazkirin bo [on YK] lo moed v'lo simchah she'ain simchah b'lo achilah". Has my memory failed or am I missing something? David Riceman
