Yes;  across the board, although I'd be surprised to hear that most people buy a house in order to do hachnasas orchim.  However, buying a house in Eretz Yisrael is specifically permitted, as are shidduch negotiations and tzorchei tzibur.  The others, by extension.  Gershon

hear from someone that shidduch financial arrangements (in details) are allowed on shabbas? is this true? if so why? (and why not for other "mitzvot" like building a house (hachnasasorchim), or lulav etrog (midoraisa) or tefilling/mezuzos, etc?also.....why is selling aliyas, petichat haaron (yom kipuur rosh hashanna,etc) ok??(tzarchei tzibur (unless going to the rabbi (in particular) v.  mecz
