[Avodah] avraham v. yakov?? (attitudes? job descriptions??)

is there a difference in the attitudes (and why??) of yaakov going down to get food (only to go down)
but not necessarily to stay there,
versus avraham, where it says lagur sham.......
וַיְהִי רָעָב בָּאָרֶץ וַיֵּרֶד אַבְרָם מִצְרַיְמָה
לָגוּר שָׁם כִּי כָבֵד הָרָעָב בָּאָרֶץ:
INTRODUCTION
