[Avodah] Interlocking Fingers

That's not how I see it.  Smoking is assur because we have recently learned of its serious dangers.  Thus, based on the venerable halacha of not harming yourself, its ban is not new halacha.  What, however, was learned recently about interlocking fingers that was not known before?
