which the language is based there is no conception of the "sky" (or

With the establishment of the State of Israel, the prayer for its welfare beginning with Avinu Shebashamayim was composed and approved by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and incorporated into the service. It is obviously a metaphor, but it is not alien to our theology.
