Seems to me that not selling chametz gamur is a straightforward and satisfying way of being mekayem "Tashbisu". If it involves hefsed meruba, than one should take advantage of  mechira since you get involved in avoidable baal tashchis which you may want to offset against the mitzvah of Tashbisu. But if doesn't involve hesfsed meruba, why not simply "get rid of it"-Tashbisu? I don't see it as being a judgment on the efficacy of the mechira. It's simply a clean, straightforward option to the fulfillment of this mitzvah, as valid as the mechira option.
