Or uncertainty about which is correct, if not resolved by saying both.
IOW, you are assuming "'zecher, zeicher', abi opmeken", whereas the TC
could have meant "'zecher', 'zeicher', abi opmeken".

And we know the uncertainty dates back to at the latest the 18th cent.
