Which leads back to the gemara Pesachim 50b - about 2 lines on bnai bayshan  who had to keep their fathers' practice because of kvar kiblu and the pasuk shma bni-the commentaries differ on whether this is a chok or whether it flows from the children "accepting" by acting that way when they reached the age of mitzvot.  Huge nafka mina!
