I might add: when I davened at Congregation Shearith Israel (the Spanish-Portugese congregation), and I didn't put on a tallit, one of the officials came over to me and asked me to put on a tallit. He didn't ask me whether I'm married or not; he didn't care what my own personal minhag or minhag avot was. Michael Makovi
