We also all understand the basic idea of stealing. It seems wrong because it is, and one shouldn't need the SA to figure it out.

Yet, we *do* need the SA, because there are many details about stealing which we *cannot* figure out on our own.

Similarly, tznius also has details which we cannot figure out on our own, and the more our teachers teach us about it, the more capable we will be of understanding what halacha requires of us.

(Personally, I have wondered for years why I've never seen any frum women or girls in culottes. They seem to me *much* more tznius than a skirt of equal length.)
