There is no bechira for a malach as there is no bechira for an animal.
Humans, therefore, containing a bit of the malach and a bit of the animal, have bechira. It's the combination that radically changes the composition of each separate entity.

If you take hydrogen alone you have one element and oxygen alone, another. Combine hydrogen with a valence of 2 together with l valence of oxygen and you get water — an entirely different element. 

You might say we are like the "water." And if we get too hot, we evaporate, and if we get too cold, we freeze. The "choice" is ours to land somewhere in between.
