In any case, it is not just Rishonim from before the Zohar who said
this. We know better then the Netziv and the Or Samayach? They lived
after the Ari and the Zohar and still said this.

Meshech Chochma( Shemos 13:9)writes:

"Divine Providence is manifest for each Jew according to his spiritual

This concept that Divine Providence is proportional to spiritual level
is one of foundations of Judaism..."
