[Avodah] Haneiros Halallu - Important note

The text in Maseches Soferim is also shorter than the version in our
siddurim, but a bit over 36 words.  (41, counting both instances of
“הנרות (ה)אלו”;  otherwise, 37.)

seq.  The order of the berachos is different, and “Haneiros” is attached
to the first berocho.

מסכת  סופרים פרק עשרים הלכה ו׳
וכצד מברכין ביום ראשון המדליק מברך שלש והרואה מברך שתים המדליק אומר בא״י
אמ״ה אקב״ו (ג) להדליק נר (ד) ואומר הנרות (ה) אלו אנו מדליקין על הישועות
על הנםים ועל הנפלאות אשר עשית לאבותינו על ידי כהניך הקדושים כל שמונת ימי
הנוכה הנרות האלו קודש ואין לנו רשות להשתמש בהן אלא לראותן בלבד כדי
להודות לשמך על נפלאותיך ועל נסיך ועל ישועתך בא״י שהחיינו וקיימנו וכו׳
ואומר שעשה נסים לאבותינו. אלו למדליק אבל לרואה אינו אומר ביום ראשון אלא
שתים שהחיינו ושעשה מכאן ואלך מברך המדליק להדליק ושעשה והרואה אומר שעשה
ניסים׃

(ג) *להדליק נר* בשו״ע סי׳ תרע״ו איתא נוסח הברכה להדליק נר חנוכה. ורש״ל
כתב להדליק נר של חנוכה בתיבה אחת׃
(ד) *ואומר הנרות וכו׳* מבואר בשו״ע לומר הנרות וכו׳ אח ר ההדלקה.  דלא
ליכוי הפסק בין הברכה להדלקה׃
(ה) *אלו* בנוסח שלנו איתא הללו. ויותר נראה לקיים גירס׳ אלו במקום הללו
דאיתא במ״א דשתי תיבות הראשונית יש ח׳ אותיות רמז לח׳ ימי חנוכה. ובנוסח
הנרות הללו יש תשעה אותיות וכתב בפ״מ דלא חשיב ה׳ או ו׳ דהנרות. ולפי
גרסתינו הנרות אלו ליכא בהו רק שמונה אותיות מצומצמין. ובגוף הנוסח מבואר
 בהפוסקיס שיש בו ששה ושלשים תיבות חוץ משני תיבות הראשונים. ובנוסחא דהכא
יש בה הרבה תיבות יותר׃

It’s interesting to note that the Siddur Rashban version Prof. Levine
pointed to has “נרות הללו” where the common text today is “הנרות הללו”
and the Maseches Soferim version is “הנרות אלו”.  Mikra Soferim also
quoted from the Magen Avraham (not mentioned by Prof. Levine) that the
first two words have eight letters (corresponding to the 8 days of
Channuka), which also only holds for the Maseches Soferim version.
