[Avodah] Tircha yeteira

Over yom tov someone told me of a psak not to have non bnei brit at a yom tov dinner even if food preparation was not an issue, due to tircha yeteira of serving ?  Anyone have a working definition of tircha yeteira on a micro level which would support this(but not disallow almost any extra effort in other venues?)
